The Billion Dollar Quest

exploring my creative potential…while trying to save the world

Eco-Philanthropy

Really, the whole point of making money is to redirect it to worthy causes. If I had it my way, the whole “civilized” world would pay an environmental tax to be collected and used to help the planet, but that’s not going to happen. So instead, I am going to try build a massive media/entertainment/education company and collect money from people in a different way. Once the business is established, and has enough money to grow and be secure, I will begin designating any excess profits to environmental causes, and I will continue to do so, no matter how big it grows.

At this point, I am unable to say exactly where this money will go. For certain, I will set up some sort of foundation to give grants out for environmental work. Generally, I will be inclined towards alternative energy, sustainability, permaculture, land conservation & clean air/water.

I may also give to some social/humanitarian causes, but the more I think about it, the more I feel that the environmental problems are paramount. This is not to say that famine and disease and war are not pressing issues, but I think all such things will be exacerbated in a world stressed by a compromised environment.
