the new site
is coming along nicely and should be more or less complete by the end of the weekend!
is coming along nicely and should be more or less complete by the end of the weekend!
in the past two weeks I have
-updated or converted about 45 games
-remade from scratch Pitch Black, Color Blinded, Grid Search, Tweak & MemoryEyes
-developed 6 new games: Mindsweeper, Word Search, ReMemory, Twinkles, WallBalls & the Multi-Task
in the process I also temporarily or permanently removed a few games:
NumbweWheel, Scrolling Logic, Wild Zirch, & Pochle
so now I get to work changing over the site, which will take days
beginning today, I have just 2 more games to convert, and 2/3 games to develop (I added a spatial sense and multi-tasking category to the new website, so I need to make a few new ones)… I expect that I will complete this today. Then I have to make three fixed games, which shouldnt take too long since they are based on already-developed BrainBall rounds… once that is done, I will have completed the game development/redesign phase of the project, and I will be very happy.
then I will start to change over the website. I expect to begin this process tomorrow evening or friday morning and hopefully have it (moslty) complete by Monday morning (which is the first day I will be eligible to be judged by the Webby panel)
in order to get ready for my webby submission, I will be working tirelessly this week… I have already informed my wife and friends that I will be MIA for the next week.
I have converted over 40 games, in addition to making 3 or 4 new ones. I have just the math and focus games left and then I will be done with this ever-so-cumbersome task of updating the games
this means that the new playwithyourmind.com will be going up sometime later this week… exciting stuff I tell you, I have been working towards this for a long time!
.. have determined that I will be entering the Webby Awards this year.
Although I had very much wanted to enter, I had decided to forgo doing so this year… the entry deadline was mid-december, and I knew my new site would not be ready for at least 1 to 2 months, so I let my hopes go… then, about 2 weeks ago I received a postcard notifying me that they had extended the deadline until January 26.. well into my site redesign, and with the endline in sight, I once again entertained the thought of submitting… but it would require me to be (mostly) done with my site, and to have $250 to spend on the entry… my progress on the site had been coming along well, but the $4000 I am owed for freelance was nowhere to be seen and, without that money, there would be no submission…. so this morning I had basically abandoned what remained of my Webby optimism, aware that my check would have to come in the next day if in order to cover the entry fee…
.. but then it came…. so here I come webby!
