kidbraingames.com

well I made some progress with the kid site yesterday… most of the html site works and I got two more games somewhat kid-adapted… so now I have to make some improvements in the portal, finish up some stuff with the website, and kid-ready Doors of Memory … then I will be ready to open. essentially that means Ill start promoting it on the wed submitting it to search engines and sites that list educational / kid-friendly sites

the main catch to the site (other than the games) is the passcode system. to make the games available to as wide a range of children as possible, I have coded each with five levels of difficulty.. once you pass a level you get a passcode and you can then start on the next difficulty level

hopefully the above will all be done by the end of this coming work week and then I will feel really glad that it is up and running because it will represent the second main step in this first stage (the game stage)

lotsa websites

So last week I finsihed my updating of http://freeonlinetypinggames.com to include the new typing games and interface with the portal. I also made it so the site will update automatically anytime I add a new typing game to playwithyourmind.com.

then I got going on memory-loss-games.com … this site is a precursor to sharpenthemind.com, focusing strictly on memory… the site wont be fully functional for a couple months yet (when I make my memory-tracking system), but I wanted to get a shell online so search engines will begin indexing it… I just have a few more things to tidy up with this new site and then I will move on.

a side project

when I was home for the holidays, i sort of got involved in a side project.. an ex-colleague of my father has decided to start developing interactive science lessons for middle/high school students. he asked to come over and meet with me to pick my brain and get some advice.. I gave him my feedback and some new ideas and now it seems as if I will be on the grant application going out in a few days. I have offered to build the website and develop some games to accompany the lessons…. so if the grant gets accepted I will start alloting 10 or so hours a week to this other project, which will be good because it will pay well and provide me with a steady source of income for just a small sacrifice in time. Ill let you know if there are any developments on this front.

a new year

hi everyone, im finally back from my travels / vacation and ready to get back to work. I have done very little work towards the quest in the past 10 days, so I am eager to get back into the swing of things… the only work I managed to get done over the break was to remake this billion dollar quest site and remove some of the links that were not active. I also made the main template for a new site called memory-loss-games.com that will focus specifically on memory games

my plan is to take a month or so off from making any new games and working on primarily on website development… updating freeonlinetypinggames.com & thewordgames.com, getting kidbraingames.com up and running (finally?!?!) and finisning up a basic shell for the memory loss games. after that, I will spend a little time promoting the sites and trying to get more inbound links (thus improving traffic and search engine rankings).

also, the week before the christmas holiday (13-20) was my most profitable week ever, as I made 7 $25 sales during that period, so it is nice to see that business is still coming in and new people are signing up
