my email to Oprah

hehe just wrote to her… here is a copy of what I sent (as a show suggestion)

Hello-

My name is Alex. I am the owner and the brains behind the online gaming website http://playwithyourmind.com, and in this capacity I have spent the past year inventing and developing a large range of online games, from word games to typing games to memory games and beyond.

My principal user-base consists of middle-aged women. Market research suggests that women aged 35-55 make up more than 60% of the casual online gaming market (”casual games” essentially are most games excluding the very large fighting/sports genre), and my personal experience over the past year corroborates this data. When I brainstormed on effective ways to reach this audience, Oprah was literally the first thing to come to my mind; many of the same women who stay at home reading you magazines or watching your show may also turn to online games to challenge their minds or just to kill some time.

I wanted to suggest a show that might be able to highlight my work and intoduce your audience to something they may have never heard but might very well enjoy. I am not sure if a show on “Online Gaming” or “Girls & Games” would be sufficiently interesting, but perhaps a topic such as “People pursuing their dreams” or “Emerging Internet Stars” might have broader appeal.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and of course, please visit my site to check it out. You can login to my game portal here: http://www.playwithyourmind.com/play-game.php.

Thanks,
Alex Colket

game portal is live!

Ok, if you are interested in seeing what I have been up to for the past couple weeks, make sure to visit the site and explore the new game portal. This is a major advancement in the site and will allow for much better organization, score/stat tracking, advertisement, etc…. lots of benefits for both me and the users…

I am also hoping that a more sophisticated presentation will encourage more memberships, and so far so good… today has already produced more signups than any day in the past month and brought in two new paying customers.

I will take several more days to improve the portal (mostly stuff in the members section) and then start promoting it and releasing news games.

More soon…
