The Billion Dollar Quest

so I have contracted the services of a SEO (search engine optimization) team that will be working with me to increase the search visibility of my site. people visit yahoo or google or whatever search engine they prefer and search for online games in massive numbers, but few of those searches ever lead to me… there are hundreds of thousands – if not millions – of searches each month for online games, card games, word games, typing games, etc and it would be a huge boost for me to pick up some of this traffic… obviously, this will take several months to have much of an impact, but it should be worth it….

btw, I spent the weekend – just like millions of others – reading the sixth Harry Potter book. I cannot help but think when I read those books that something Harry Potter-caliber will someday spring from my own mind….

OK, so I havent been blogging much lately…. sorry.

just to let you know how things are going:

1) membership is still slow but still growing. I think I have 10 paying members…

2) just got my first revenue from my http://allgamesfree.com partnership… nice to have another check coming in

3) I just “met” some guy yesterday who is a senior CS major and he was so eager to join the team that he is going to buy Flash, teach himself the language and then get back to me in a couple weeks when done to start coding games.

4) released two new games in the past two weeks, RoadBlocks and SpatialEyes. You can read about them on my playwithyourmind.com blog

5) in a strange twist, I am now getting a “salary” from playing online poker. its either go out and get a real job or split my computer time between playwithyourmind.com and online poker, so the latter option seems better. although playing 5 hours of poker a day seems absurd, it seems much better than working a 9 hour shift every day….

6) working on daily games for the members site that will change daily and track daily high scores
